Healthcare staffing agency in Atlanta, GA

PNG Solutions staffs hospitals, surgery centres, clinics and long term care facilities across metro Atlanta with travel nurses, per diem nurses and allied health professionals. Our office is on Northside Parkway and our recruiters know these buildings.

Staffing metro Atlanta

Atlanta has one of the densest hospital markets in the southeast, and it staffs like it. Between the academic centres, the large non profit systems, the specialty hospitals and the long term acute care facilities, a nurse in this city has more options than almost anywhere else in Georgia. That also means facilities compete hard for the same people, and vacancies on nights and weekends stay open for months.

We work the whole metro: Buckhead, Midtown, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Decatur, Marietta, Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Lawrenceville, Douglasville, Stockbridge and out to Newnan and Cartersville. We also place across the rest of the state, including Savannah, Augusta, Columbus, Macon and Athens.

What we staff here

The Atlanta desk fills the same four service lines as the rest of the business, with the addition that a lot of our local work is per diem and local contract rather than travel, because clinicians here do not need to relocate to find volume.

  • Travel contracts for nurses coming into Atlanta, typically 13 weeks with housing and travel support
  • Local contracts for Georgia nurses who want contract rates without leaving home
  • Per diem shifts, single shifts and block bookings, for nurses topping up a staff income
  • Allied health, including respiratory therapy, surgical techs, radiology and CT, and medical laboratory
  • Permanent placement for staff nurses through to directors of nursing

Georgia licensure

Georgia is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact. If you hold a multistate licence issued by another compact state and your primary residence is there, you can practise in Georgia without applying for a separate licence, which removes the single largest delay in getting started.

If you are moving your residency to Georgia, you will need to apply for a Georgia multistate licence through the Georgia Board of Nursing, and you cannot hold multistate licences in two states at once. If your home state is not in the compact, you will need a Georgia single state licence by endorsement. We will tell you honestly what the board is currently taking, because that timeline determines your start date more than anything we do.

Talk to a recruiter

Why local matters

A recruiter who knows the building

Most of what makes an assignment good or bad is specific to a unit rather than a system. Which floors float and which do not. Which managers back their agency staff and which treat them as disposable. Where parking actually is, and whether the badge works on a Sunday.

National agencies working Atlanta from a call centre three time zones away cannot tell you any of that, and they will not know that a particular unit has cancelled three contracts in the last year. We are based here, our recruiters have placed into these facilities repeatedly, and we will tell you when a contract is not worth taking.

For facilities, the same locality is why we can usually submit inside 48 hours. The credentialling files for our Georgia clinicians are already complete, and a large share of our local per diem pool has worked in your building before.

Questions

Common questions

Do you only place nurses in Atlanta?

No. Atlanta is where we are based and where we do the most local and per diem work, but we place travel and permanent staff nationwide. Within Georgia we regularly fill roles in Savannah, Augusta, Columbus, Macon and Athens as well as the metro.

Do I need a Georgia nursing licence to work here?

Not necessarily. Georgia is a Nurse Licensure Compact state, so a multistate licence from another compact state with your primary residence there lets you practise in Georgia without a separate application. If your home state is not in the compact, you will need a Georgia licence by endorsement and we will help you through it.

How quickly can a facility get staff?

For specialties we fill regularly in this market, usually a qualified submission within 48 hours, because the credentialling files are already complete. Harder requirements such as CVICU nights take longer, and we will say so at the outset rather than going quiet on you.

Do you place per diem as well as contracts?

Yes, and in Atlanta per diem is a large part of what we do. Single shifts, block bookings and local 13 week contracts, which is how a lot of Georgia nurses get contract rates without relocating.

What allied health roles do you fill in Atlanta?

Respiratory therapists, surgical technologists, radiology and CT technologists, ultrasound and MRI, medical laboratory scientists, sterile processing technicians, and physical and occupational therapy staff.
